Terms of use

1. Purpose

These terms of use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Volumeal app and related services. They form a contract between you and the publisher of Volumeal.

2. The service

Volumeal estimates the calories and macronutrients of your meals from a photo, a barcode or voice input, and presents them as a range with a confidence level. Estimates are indicative and not intended to be accurate to the gram.

3. Account & eligibility

You can use Volumeal as a guest, or create an account via Apple or Google. You must be of the age required in your country to use this kind of service and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity carried out from your account.

4. Free tier & Premium

• Free: 5 scans a day, journal, goal, barcode scan and the confidence range. An optional ad can unlock an extra scan.
• Premium: €4.99/month or €29.99/year, unlimited scans, cloud backup, scale reference and ad removal, with a 7-day free trial.

5. Payment & cancellation

Subscriptions are billed via the App Store (Apple) or Google Play, under their terms. Unless cancelled at least 24 h before the period ends, the subscription renews automatically. You can cancel anytime from your App Store or Google Play account; Premium access stays active until the end of the current period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, reverse-engineer it, or use it for unlawful purposes. We may suspend access in case of abuse.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its brand, design and content are protected and remain the property of the publisher. Your data and content remain yours; you grant us only the right to process them to provide the service.

8. Health — disclaimer

Volumeal is a tracking and information tool. It is not a medical device and its estimates are not medical or dietary advice. Consult a healthcare professional for any decision about your diet, especially with a medical condition.

9. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we cannot be held liable for the consequences of a decision based solely on an estimate, nor for interruptions beyond our control. Nothing in these Terms excludes the rights the law guarantees you.

10. Availability & changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the service, and update these Terms. Significant changes will be flagged in the app.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. Failing amicable resolution, the competent courts are those provided by law. For any question: [email protected].
